Mexico is under siege as members of the Jalisco Cartel, one of the most powerful and feared criminal organisations in the country, have unleashed a wave of violence across 20 Mexican states in retaliation to the killing of their leader “El Mencho”. He died in custody shortly after being captured by Mexican special forces.
As news of his death spread, cartel members launched attacks, blocking roads by throwing spikes and nails on to the tarmac, commandeering buses which they then torched and set alight dozens of banks and local businesses such as pharmacies.
In Guadalajara – one of the host cities of the forthcoming Fifa World Cup – travellers at the airport could be seen running and crouching on the floor in panic.
Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, El Mencho, born 17 July 1966, a Mexican drug lord, was the most wanted person in Mexico and one of the most wanted in the USA, rewards of up to US$15 million and MXN$300 million, were offered for information leading to his arrest. He was wanted for drug trafficking, organized crime involvement, and undocumented possession of firearms.
Born into poverty in Mexico, he immigrated illegally to the U.S. in the 1980s, was arrested several times and deported to Mexico in the early 1990s. His notoriety was a result of his aggressive leadership and sensationalist acts of violence against both rival criminal groups and Mexican security forces alike.
Mexico, 15 September 1810 11pm Dolores Hidalgo, is under attack at the moment with the Solar Arc Mars square the Mex Saturn which can accompany violence and destruction; with the Progressed Mars conjunct the Mex Neptune for a sense of panicky failure. The recent and upcoming Lunar Eclipse in Virgo/Pisces falls across the Mexico Pisces Midheaven and Pluto in Pisces in the 10th which points to a crisis of authority and direction. The next three years look fraught with the Solar Arc Saturn Neptune conjunction squaring the Mexico Virgo Sun up to 2030; and the Solar Arc Mars square the Neptune/Saturn midpoint and Saturn up to 2029 as well.
Claudia Scheinbaum, the president, 24 June 1962, is having a bumpy ride with tr Uranus square her Uranus exactly now and tr Neptune Saturn moving to square her early degree Cancer Sun, on and off all year in the case of Neptune, bringing confusion and indecision.
Her swearing in chart, 1 October 2024 9am-ish, is replete with late degree planets – Pluto at 29 Capricorn, Uranus at 28 Taurus, Moon 28 Virgo, Neptune 28 Pisces and a Midheaven around 29 Leo or early Gemini – so highly fluid, with sudden changes coming this year especially.

El Mencho, 17 July 1976, was a late Sun Cancer sextile Jupiter in Taurus; with cool and ambitious Venus Saturn in Leo trine Neptune, sextile Pluto; and in an autocratic square to Uranus North Node in Scorpio. On the face of it not the most brutal chart but a focal point Pluto on the mini Grand Trine and an executive-ability, bad-at-sharing Saturn on the focal point of a Fixed T square involving the Nodes does hint at a bleak, hard-hearted temperament.
Down in his midpoints it becomes clearer with a ruthless Pluto conjunct his Mars/North Node midpoint and worse his Mars conjunct his Saturn/Pluto midpoint – both of which point to a savage streak.
As he was killed his Solar Arc Pluto had moved to conjunct his Uranus.
