Explore the possibilities and see which one resonates with your spooky side!

The Halloween Tarot by Karin Lee and Kipling West

This deck follows the imagery and designs of the Rider Waite Tarot, and is my first and top recommendation. Perfect for beginners or professionals, the light-hearted imagery allows the deck to work in public settings, like a Halloween party. Halloween themed changes show up in the names of the suits, as explained by the publisher in the except below.

From the publisher:

A black cat with glowing eyes leads us on our nocturnal sojourn through the 78 cards of the Major and Minor Arcana. The characters of the Major Arcana visit from the realms of horror stories and Halloween tradition. The Minor Arcana suits are Pumpkins (earth), Imps (fire), Ghosts (water), and Bats (air), each with a special significance.

Tarot Deck Review: The Halloween Tarot

Jack O Lantern Tarot by Giuliano Costa and Rachel Paul

This deck has a bit more of a “classical” feel, especially when compared to the Halloween Tarot. The art is distinctive and does follow the Rider Waite designs. And, the creators stick with the traditional Cups, Pentacles, Swords, and Wands. Overall a solid deck, worth adding to your collection. This deck works for beginners and professionals, and is suitable for use in public settings.

From the Publisher:

Gorgeous rich colors and perfectly rendered compositions are sure to make this one of the most popular Halloween decks available. As the Wheel of the Year turns to autumn, this lovely tarot reflects how the distance between our world and the spirit plane thins and fades.

Trick or Treat Tarot by Barbara Moore and Jonathan Hunt

Another Rider Waite imitation, this deck brings in popular culture references in the artwork, pulling from movies and TV shows. The artwork is fun and creative, making this another deck suitable for beginners or professionals. Barbara Moore is well-known for her tarot decks, which include the Wizards Tarot and Good Fortune Tarot.

From the publisher:

Welcome, goblins and ghouls, to a tarot of frights and fun, disguises and delights, divination and daring adventure. Trick or Treat Tarot provides exactly what you need to confront fear, peer into the future, and create a unique identity that suits you every day―not just on Halloween.

Hocus Pocus Tarot by Minerva Siegel, Tori Schafer, and DreaD

Hocus Pocus is a 1993 comedy-fantasy about three resurrected witches wreaking havoc in modern-day Salem. Its mix of humor, Halloween spirit, and charm made it a cult classic, especially loved for its amusing story. This deck is especially fun, and a great deck to add to your Halloween collection, even if you are not familiar with the movie.

From the publisher:

Featuring original illustrations of the Sanderson sisters and the wider world of Hocus Pocus, this deck matches characters from the film with tarot archetypes, making it a fresh interpretation of a traditional tarot deck. Each card features a full-color illustration of a character from Hocus Pocus, including the Sanderson Sisters, the Dennisons, Ernie, Billie Butcherson and more.

Halloween Oracle by Stacey Demarco

This deck is the most “mature” of all the ones reviewed. The art is fantastic, and Stacey Demarco is an excellent writer. She is also the creator of the Goddesses and Sirens Oracle, as well as the Divine Animals Oracle. Choose this deck if you want to do more in depth spiritual work around Halloween, for yourself, friends, or clients.

From the Publisher:

Unleash your inner monster and trick-or-treat your way into a connection with the most magical and scary night of the year: Halloween! Tarot Deck Review: The Halloween Oracle

Halloween Forever Oracle by Jasmine Becket-Griffith and Tess Whitehurst

Another deck by an accomplished oracle card artist, Jasmine Becket-Griffith, is certainly worth adding to your collection. Her unique style really makes this deck powerful and eye-catching. Tess Whitehurst provides the content for the booklet, and is a renowned spiritual teacher. Her expert knowledge is on display with each card description. A great deck for use in public settings, and more than appropriate for beginners or seasoned readers.

From the Publisher:

Drawing inspiration from traditions like Samhain and Día de los Muertos, this oracle offers year-round guidance and answers from the realms of spirit and magic.
