Tarot Tuesday: The Scales, Four Cards, One Side Heavier

Tarot Tuesday: The Scales, Four Cards, One Side Heavier

Venus slipped back into Libra, the sign of the scales, on Sunday. Until Venus turns direct on November 13, notice where you give more than you receive, where someone else carries you, and which agreements no longer feel fair. This week’s spread brings that balance into view.

We drew four cards at random and laid them out as an uneven scale, left side with one less card than the right.

1. The beam: Place the first card sideways across the top. What in your life needs weighing?
2. The light side: Place the second card below the beam’s left end. What have you been carrying?
3. The heavy side: Place the third card below the right end, one full card higher than the second. What are you receiving in return?
4. The balancing weight: Place the fourth card upright on top of the third card. What would help bring the scales back into balance?

🦝 THE BEAM: Two of Pentacles

A raccoon stands upright in an autumn forest, juggling rings of gold light while leaves fall around it. The Two of Pentacles is the arrangement itself: the trade, the split, the back-and-forth you keep in the air with someone. Name it before you weigh it. If it takes this much juggling to keep it going, that is already information.

🧺 THE LIGHT PAN, WHAT YOU CARRY: Ten of Wands

A stork flies low under grey cloud with a full bundle hanging beneath it. The Ten of Wands is the load you took on because you could. Nobody asked the stork whether it was too much; it just kept flying. This card asks which part of the bundle was ever yours.

🦙 THE HEAVY PAN, WHAT COMES BACK: Nine of Pentacles

An alpaca stands at ease among vines above a pale sea, a small bird resting on its back. The Nine of Pentacles is comfort that has been earned and is not being shared. On the light side of a scale, it is the person, or the part of you, doing fine while the other side strains. Do not resent the alpaca. Notice that it is not carrying anything.

🪷 THE WEIGHT THAT LEVELS IT: Temperance

A white swan on a lily pond lowers its beak to a golden cup, a second cup standing in the water beside it. Temperance is the pour: a little from one cup into the other until they match. It is the opposite of a showdown. This card asks what small, specific thing would move from the heavy side to the light side this week.

Look at where the scales feel uneven. What would help: asking for support, letting go of a responsibility, or accepting what someone is offering?

Notice which card draws you back. It may hold a clue to the first change you’re ready to make.
